Can antibiotics treat more than one infection at a time?

3. Antibiotics are not one -size-fits-all. The antibiotics that work for a urinary tract infection aren't the same as the ones that will fight your strep throat. But, for example, taking those broad-spectrum antibiotics for an extended period of time can put you at risk for C. diff, a severe and hard-to- treat infection.
